PxG® servo planetary gear units – the perfect servo solution for your application

With performance classes P1 to P7 – from economy to precision – and the integrated solution PxG® integrated, the PxG® series offers a versatile modular servo system for almost any industrial application. The six performance classes are aimed at all industrial and engineering specialists who need reliable and efficient high-performance servo gear units – from the design and development stages via procurement and project management all the way through to service and maintenance.

The modular servo principle – one system, three approaches

PxG® servo planetary gear units offer a combination of freely selectable performance classes and a modular design. The result is a solution that adapts precisely to your specific needs – from a machine with basic requirements to a high-end application.

The benefits for you at a glance

  • Cost-effective performance classes P1 to P3 – optimized for standard applications with excellent cost benefits.
  • Precise performance classes P5 to P7 – for applications requiring maximum dynamics, accuracy, and performance.
  • Integrated (PxG® integrated) – the compact all-in-one solution comprising servomotor and gear unit, for a minimized installation length, a simplified design, and maximum efficiency.

Benefits of the modular principle

  • The modular system can be customized. It offers modular synchronous servomotors tailored to your application with appropriate gear units, accessories, and options.
    • Direct mounting of standard or precision gear units for a compact, space-saving solution
    • Choice of two brake systems – a permanent-magnet holding brake and a spring-loaded brake with increased working capacity for maximum safety and performance
    • Reduced startup times thanks to digital motor and data integration (including single-cable technology)
  • A global network of production and assembly sites ensures an optimum logistics set-up and exceptionally short delivery times.
  • End-to-end service concepts offer comprehensive services and tools – from planning through to maintenance.

Single-cable technology for power supply and data transfer with digital encoder for synchronous motors

Digital motor and data integration is successful thanks to the MOVILINK® DDI digital interface. It's all based on single-cable technology. Our motors and inverters from the MOVI‑C® modular automation system really do require just one hybrid cable for power supply and data transfer. The hybrid cable supplies the motor with power and MOVILINK® DDI, a digital encoder, transfers all necessary power, brake, and diagnostic data between inverter and motor. This saves you both time and money during installation and startup.

Functional safety

If required, both motor designs from the CM3.. series are also available with a safety brake and safety encoder. These can be integrated into the servomotor individually or in combination.

The following safety functions are possible with the safety brake:

  • SBA (Safe Brake Actuation)
  • SBH (Safe Brake Hold)

Using safety encoders, safety functions relating to rotational speed, direction of rotation, standstill, and relative position are possible, such as SS1, SS2, SOS, SLA, SLS, SDI, and SLI according to IEC 61800‑5-2.

International regulations

Drive technology and drive electronics are subject to various functional and/or product-related requirements, depending on the country of use. For instance, specific product labeling requirements must be met when importing goods. Both "Medium Inertia" and "High Dynamic" synchronous servomotors have the necessary national product labeling.
