That smells delicious! Just like always when freshly baked rolls go straight from the oven to the table. Helge Pahl, M.Eng., Managing Director of Heinen Freezing GmbH & Co. KG in Varel, on the process the products undergo beforehand: “The baked goods or dough pieces are flash-frozen, for example, in an arctic a10 spiral freezer. The result is that consumers can look forward to crispy, oven-warm rolls at any time.”

The torque required for the spiral freezer was provided by a planetary gear unit from the P series manufactured by SEW-EURODRIVE GmbH & Co. KG, Bruchsal. With eleven sizes, the series covers a torque range from 25 to 630 kNm and is therefore used wherever substantial masses need to be moved at low rotational speeds. In addition to process engineering, the industries in which these large planetary gear units are used include mining, steel and hydraulic engineering, and general cargo handling.
